An intimate look into the creative process of founding Phish guitarist and vocalist Trey Anastasio, “Between Me and My Mind” comes to movie theaters nationwide for a special one-night-only screening on Wednesday, July 17. The film features several appearances of Tank Recording Studio owner/engineer Ben Collette, who has spent the last decade and a half working with Anastasio.

A few minutes into this intimate look at the creative process of founding Phish guitarist and vocalist Trey Anastasio, it is clear that he is exploding with his unique brand of songwriting and creativity. As the frontman of one of America’s longest lasting and most successful touring bands and a solo musician as well, Anastasio’s virtuosic musicianship has made him an icon. He is beloved by his die-hard fanbase for the depth of his artistic output and the boundless enthusiasm that he exudes on stage and off. 

The film follows Anastasio across a two-year creative arc. Including the writing and recording of his solo project,“Ghosts Of The Forest.”  Phish’s “Kasvot Vaxt: i rokk” at The Barn Studio. As well as Phish’s 2017 New Year’s Gag “Soul Planet” – from the initial conception of the idea with visits to Page, Mike and Fish’s home studios, up through the performance at Madison Square Garden.
